It is with great pleasure that we announce that Grandparents
Against Gun Violence - Missouri and Kansas and
Grandmothers Against Gun Violence - Washington
will be our guest speakers for our April meeting.
Both these groups are powerhouse grassroots organizations
that have built themselves from the ground up, developing over
time to address the changing landscape
of gun violence prevention work.
Those of you who do not know it will be surprised at
the history of all our groups and how we came to be who we are.
As March for Our Lives was born of Parkland, a whole other
generation, grandmothers, founded our groups directly after
Sandy Hook.
Since our founding, we have all developed and pivoted
to meet the rising challenges.
Our guests will be sharing with us some of their successes,
challenges of running their organizations and thoughts about
their mission and directions for the future.
We will also share our thoughts on possible future
collaborations with each other.
We're really looking forward to this meeting and
some Coast to Coast advocacy!
Zoom details to follow closer to meeting.
Please note time is 12:00 noon EDT
to accommodate the time differences coast to coast.
