In September, we will be joined by Kathleen Berry, founder
and past leader of MA South Shore Local Group and current
State Public Education Lead for Massachusetts.
She will speak on
The Epidemic that Hasn’t Gone Away Meeting it Head On
COVID-19’s toll exposed us to vulnerabilities
and division that surprised many.
As our nation re-emerges from the worst effects of the pandemic,
we must face the fact that another long-standing epidemic
- gun violence - has not gone away; in fact,
it was exacerbated during the pandemic.
Our work never ended – it moved into virtual spaces – but we
are emerging stronger than ever and organizing in person again.

Kathleen will present on today’s Moms Demand Action for Gun
Sense in America, the nation’s largest grassroots organization
working to prevent gun violence,
now numbering over 8 million supporters.
She will discuss our national and statewide priorities.
As MA Moms State Chapter Lead for our Public Education
Campaigns, she will highlight our initiatives in public
education and awareness-raising.
One of her most important initiatives is to involve MA
school districts in using their voices to keep children safe.
